Go Red!

March 25, 2012

I had no idea that Friday was the 100th anniversary of the Red Line until I stumbled upon a Boston.com tribute article. And here are a few interesting factoids I picked up:

  • The Red Line got its color/name as a nod to Harvard (you know, the whole Crimson thing)
  • The Red Line has had the fewest accidents/derailments of any line on the T
  • And not to brag, but Bradley Clarke, president of the Boston Street Railway Association, says the Red Line has always been the most cutting-edge line on the MBTA :)
