If It Feels Like There’s Nothing on the Market Right Now…

… it’s not your imagination. Even by dead-of-winter standards, Cambridge and Somerville are experiencing a huge dearth of homes for sale across all categories (single-families, multi-families and condos) and price points. Check out these year-to-date active inventory comparisons for Cambridge and Somerville over the last five years:



And if these numbers aren’t alarming enough, note that they are still skewed somewhat high, since some of these “active” listings actually already have accepted offers, but have not yet had their MLS status changed to “under agreement” because the seller requested to keep the status active until some contingency has been met (generally the signing of the Purchase & Sale agreement).

Did I mention it’s a great time to sell?
